Day 15 Psalm 9:1-4,7-14 Give Thanks to God Devotedly Because of His Salvation
(Memorization Scripture: vv. 1-2)
1 I will praise you, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will show forth all your marvelous works.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in you: I will sing praise to your name, O most High.
3 When my enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at your presence.
4 For you have maintained my right and my cause; you sat in the throne judging right.
7 But the LORD shall endure forever: he has prepared his throne for judgment.
8 And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
9 The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
10 And they that know your name will put their trust in you: for you, LORD, have not forsaken them that seek you.
11 Sing praises to the LORD, who dwells in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
12 When he avenges blood, he remembers them: he forgets not the cry of the humble.
13 Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer from them that hate me, you that lift me up from the gates of death:
14 That I may show forth all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in your salvation.
[Sharing] Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail. We need to hear this today as our academia, media, and our own hearts brag that mankind is the center of the universe. We need this truth to rule our minds today - this life is neither ruled by us or the threat of our enemies. I can turn to the Lord in great thanksgiving as it is He who sits enthroned forever, it is His justice that rules, and He is the stronghold in whom we can put our trust. Even in the dark days of tragedy and failure in our own lives and in times when it seems evil is winning, our Lord is present with us in the world (v. 11, among us in Zion), is actively judging evil (vv. 4, 7-8, 12), and never forgets His people (v.10) but shows such great mercy and care. What does this mean for the psalmist and for me? It means, instead of boasting of myself or cowering in fear and despair, I can publicly (v.14, gates of Zion) praise the Lord with my whole life (v. 1, my whole heart) for delivering me from sin, enemies, and death! Let’s sing together today, I will rejoice in your salvation!

1 我要一心稱謝耶和華;
2 我要因袮歡喜快樂;
4 因袮已經為我伸冤,為我辨屈;
…
7 惟耶和華坐為王,直到永遠;
13 耶和華啊,袮是從死門把我提拔起來的;
14 好叫我述說袮一切的美德;
