Daily Scripture - May 31

Isaiah 40:27-31
(Memorization Scripture 29-31)
27 Why do you say, O Jacob,
And speak, O Israel:
“My way is hidden from the Lord,
And my just claim is passed over by my God”?
28 Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Daily Scripture - May 30

Luke 24:45-49, Acts 1:8
(Memorization Scripture 1:8)
45 And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, [l]and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, 47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And you are witnesses of these things. 49 Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city [m]of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be [c]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

(Memorization Scripture4-5 )
4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one! 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Daily Scripture - May 27

Isaiah 58:9b-12
(Memorization Scripture 11-12)
You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’
“If you take away the yoke from your midst,
The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness,
10 If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul,
Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your [f]darkness shall be as the noonday.
11 The Lord will guide you continually,
And satisfy your soul in drought,
And strengthen your bones;
You shall be like a watered garden,
And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
12 Those from among you
Shall build the old waste places;
You shall raise up the foundations of many generations;
And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach,
The Restorer of [g]Streets to Dwell In.

Daily Scripture - May 26

Galatians 5:16-26
(Memorization Scripture 16-17, 22-25)
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: [d]adultery, [e]fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, [f]murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 [g]gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.

Daily Scripture - May 25

Romans 8:5-10
(Memorization Scripture 5-6)

5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be [b]carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the [c]carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

Daily Scripture - May 24

Psalm 65:9-13
(Memorization Scripture 9-12)

9 You [c]visit the earth and water it,
You greatly enrich it;
The river of God is full of water;
You provide their grain,
For so You have prepared it.
10 You water its ridges abundantly,
You settle its furrows;
You make it soft with showers,
You bless its growth.
11 You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.
12 They drop on the pastures of the wilderness,
And the little hills rejoice on every side.

13 The pastures are clothed with flocks;
The valleys also are covered with grain;
They shout for joy, they also sing.

Daily Scripture - May 23

2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1
(Memorization Scripture 7:1 )
14 Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? 15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 16 And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you[f] are the temple of the living God. As God has said:
“I will dwell in them
And walk among them.
I will be their God,
And they shall be My people.”

17 Therefore
“Come out from among them
And be separate, says the Lord.
Do not touch what is unclean,
And I will receive you.”
18 “I will be a Father to you,
And you shall be My sons and daughters,
Says the Lord Almighty.”

1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Daily Scripture - May 22

1 Timothy 4 :7-10
(Memorization Scripture 8 )
7 But reject profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself toward godliness. 8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come. 9 This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance. 10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

Daily Scripture - May 21

Ephesians 6:5-9
(Memorization Scripture 6-8)
5 Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of heart, as to Christ; 6 not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bondservants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart, 7 with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, 8 knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

9 And you, masters, do the same things to them, giving up threatening, knowing that [a]your own Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.

Daily Scripture - May 20

Ephesians 6:1-4
(Memorization Scripture1-4 )
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: 3 “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”4 And you, fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord.

Daily Scripture - May 19

John 16:12-16
(Memorization Scripture 13-14)

12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. 14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. 15 All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He [c]will take of Mine and declare it to you.16 “A little while, and you will not see Me; and again a little while, and you will see Me, because I go to the Father.”

Father, once again, we thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit. We especially thank you for the Holy Spirit's dwelling in us. Because He dwells in us, we have experienced what Jesus says, "when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment." Yes, there are so many divine things that we do not understand, even you said over and over. Sometimes we thought we understood, yet we actually don't. We pray for ourselves and our families that the Holy Spirit, who is also the Spirit of truth, will continuously and actively work in us, convict us of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; furthermore, guide us into all truth, make us understand it and live out the spiritual reality of the truth. When the truth is in our lives, there will be no more darkness but liberty in light. Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ is the truth and the light. May we all live a life glorifying our Savior, Jesus Christ, because of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Daily Scripture - May 18

John 15:26-27、16:5-11

(Memorization Scripture15:26-27, 16:8-11)

26 “But when the [c]Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me. 27 And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

5 “But now I go away to Him who sent Me, and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’ 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

Daily Scripture - May 17

John 14:14-20

(Memorization Scripture 16-17)

14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.15 “If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.19 “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.

"If you love me, keep my commandments." We often use "someone loves Jesus" to describe others or selves. If does God know that someone loves Him? Jesus told us that He knows because this person keeps His commandments. Let's all love Jesus to respond to His love for us. Not only Jesus is God incarnate, died, and resurrected for our sake but also gave us another Comforter, the Spirit of truth, to abide with us and in us forever. Praise the Lord, Jesus lives, we will live also, we are in Him, and He is in us as through the Holy Spirit.

Daily Scripture - May 16

Ephesians 5:22-33
(Memorization Scripture 31-33)
22 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. 24 Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might [g]sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. 30 For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church. 33 Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Husband: Lord, thank you for giving me the opportunity to grow into your imitation as a husband. I submit myself to you with fear of God, and I pray that you will continuously help me to be a wise husband understanding what your will is through being often filled by the Holy Spirit, rather than conforming to this evil generation. Help me to nourish my wife with your words so that we can walk in the light of your truth. Whenever, for any reason, I can not love my wife like you love your church, Lord, help me to see my wife and I are one, while loving her is loving myself, respecting her is respecting myself, and hurting her is hurting myself. In Jesus' name, I pray.

Wife: Lord, please help me to see that whenever I submit myself to my husband I submit to you. Help me to be often filled by the Holy Spirit so that I can be a wise woman understanding your will, and not to conform to the worldly pattern. Help me to speak edifyingly, especially to my husband, and be his good helper. Lord, I honor you and am willing to let your Holy Spirit work in me to be a submissive and respectful wife, in any circumstances. When I am hurt, Oh, Spirit, I trust your comfort will bring me incomparable strength, so that I can persist in walking on the path that pleases you. In Jesus' name, I pray.

Daily Scripture - May 15

Ephesians 5:8-14
(Memorization Scripture 9-11)
8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the [b]Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. 11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather [c]expose them.12 For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. 13 But all things that are [d]exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. 14 Therefore He says:

“Awake, you who sleep,
Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.”

Father God, we thank you that we are no longer darkness but light in the Lord. Please help us to walk in the light and bear the fruit of the Spirit which is also the fruit of light. When we take part in the works of darkness, Lord, may the Holy Spirit reproach us, make us feel strongly shameful, uncomfortable, and unpeaceful, do not let us being past feeling to walk in the darkness. Do not let us justify when we see others walking in the darkness. Oh, Lord, we do not want to grieve the Holy Spirit who dwells in us. May the Holy Spirit wake us up from the dead, until we come out of the darkness, put on the new man, and walk in the light again.

Again, we pray for our family members. Let no darkness dwell in our home, no behaviors are done in secret, but all walk in the light to please God. In Jesus' name, we pray.

Daily Scripture - May 14

Ephesians 5:1-7
(Memorization Scripture 1-4)
1 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
5 For [a]this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not be partakers with them.

Father God, we pray to you that our family members will all be more and more like you, through Christ our Savior and the work of the Holy Spirit. We pray that no uncleanness exists in our home, including words, thoughts, and acts. Keep us from being deceived or influenced by those who disobey you. In Jesus’ name, we pray.

Daily Scripture - May 13

Ephesians 5:15-21
(Memorization Scripture 18-21)
15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, 20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another in the fear of God.

We should add verse 18 to the memorization verse, as it is the key to all these imperative "do's" and "don'ts." Fools seek stimulant and satisfaction from wine (and other similar things), but wise seek being filled by the Holy Spirit, in these evil days. Being filled with alcohol (and other similar things) can take control of our lives and lead them to dissipation. On the contrary, when we are often filled by the Spirit and become a Spirit-filled person, we will be able to live a life full of God's joy, singing and making melody to the Lord, giving thanks always, and speak truth edifyingly to one another. Then, being submissive to one another (between any people relationship, especially in family relationships followed this passage in Eph. 5) is not difficult at all because of the fear of God.

Daily Scripture - May 12

Ephesians 4:25-32
(Memorization Scripture 30-32)
25 Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another. 26 “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, 27 nor give place to the devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
undefined

Put off lying, stealing, and unwholesome talk, only speak truthfully and edifyingly; forgive and be kind to one another

Lying, lasting anger, stealing (not only materially), and corrupt words often happened in our home, yet we let these sins dwell with us. It is also hard to believe there could be a lot of malice (bitterness, wrath, clamor, evil speaking) existing in our home, yet we are powerless to put them away. Pray that God's salvation through Jesus Christ comes to my family and me today, let us only speak truthfully and edifyingly, forgive and be kind to one another, no longer grieve the Holy Spirit of God. We, those who believe in Jesus, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit (1:13) who dwells in us, and through Him, God will make us holy and blameless in Christ.

Daily Scripture - May 11

Ephesians 4:17,20-24
(Memorization Scripture 23-24)
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind,
20 But you have not so learned Christ, 21 if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, 23 and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, 24 and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
undefined

Holiness in family and /individual life

Today's Scripture is about how we can walk the Christian walk in true righteousness and holiness----by putting off the old man and putting on the new man. We probably never thought that the most time and place that we sin is when we are at home. Let's pray for our daily life at home. Pray that each and every one of our family members are blessed by the new man created like God in true righteousness and holiness. The Scripture also points out the practical way. We have to put off AND put on, then we will experience how the new man lives out a life in true holiness and righteousness.

Daily Scripture - May 10

Hebrews 10:19-24
(Memorization Scripture 19-22)
19 Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, 21 and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,

Daily Scripture - May 9

Psalm 1:1-6
(Memorization Scripture 2-3)
1 Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Hosea 14:4-8
(Memorization Scripture 4,8)
4 “I will heal their backsliding,
I will love them freely,
For My anger has turned away from him.

5 I will be like the dew to Israel;
He shall grow like the lily,
And [c]lengthen his roots like Lebanon.
6 His branches shall spread;
His beauty shall be like an olive tree,
And his fragrance like Lebanon.
7 Those who dwell under his shadow shall return;
They shall be revived like grain,
And grow like a vine.
Their scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

8 “Ephraim shall say, ‘What have I to do anymore with idols?’
I have heard and observed him.
I am like a green cypress tree;
Your fruit is found in Me.”

2 Corithians 10:3-5
(Memorization Scripture 3-5)
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not [a]carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Daily Scripture - May 5

Hebrews 11:13-16
(Memorization Scripture 16)
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. 15 And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. 16 But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

Romans 5:1-5
(Memorization Scripture 1-5)
Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; 4 and perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Daily Scripture - May 1

Colossians 1:15-22
(Memorization Scripture 17-19)
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,
20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

21 And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled 22 in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight.
